Dr. Efi Kessous
MD, MPH - Primary Care Provider & Urgent Care Physician
Dr. Efi Kessous is a board-certified primary care physician who practices at our urgent care center and serves as a trusted primary doctor at Montgomery Medical Clinic. As a primary care provider, he is also an Assistant Professor and faculty member at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
As a primary care physician at our urgent center, his clinical interests include procedural family medicine, injury management, women's health, and occupational medicine. Dr. Kessous is committed to providing comprehensive urgent care and primary care services for individuals and families as their dedicated primary doctor.
He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and serves as a designated FAA aviation medical examiner, bringing a diverse skill set to patient care.
Dr. Bertha Velandia
MD - Primary Care Provider
Dr. Bertha Velandia is an experienced primary care provider and primary doctor who received her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional in Bogota, Colombia in 1983. As a primary care physician, she completed her residency in family medicine at the UAB Huntsville Medical Campus in 2009.
During her distinguished career, Dr. Velandia has received an outstanding award in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has also dedicated time serving in rural communities and published research on scurvy in developed countries.
As a dedicated primary care physician at our urgent care center, Dr. Velandia brings warmth and experience as a primary doctor, making urgent care and primary care services accessible and compassionate for families in Gaithersburg.
Dr. Jonathan Lawless
DO, CAQSM - Primary Care Physician & Sports Medicine
Dr. Lawless is a dual board-certified primary care provider in family medicine and sports medicine at our urgent center. As a primary doctor, he completed his training at Northwell Plainview Hospital in Plainview, NY, and graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012.
His comprehensive training includes a traditional rotating internship at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was appointed as a teaching associate in family medicine at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine during his sports medicine fellowship.
As a primary care physician at our urgent care center, Dr. Lawless' expertise includes musculoskeletal care, diagnostic ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, and osteopathic treatment. This primary doctor provides comprehensive urgent care and primary care services for acute and chronic conditions.
